ALIANZA VERDE

Unity is strength!

For the first time, three NGOs signed a collaboration agreement. Based in Costa Rica and the United States, they have announced this alliance in a public statement htrough their representatives : Andres Bermudes for The Clean Wave, Gerardo Bolanos for Costas Verdes, and Sylvain Demercastel for Savage Lands. Those three environmental activists signed a “Manifesto.” This initiative binds the three non-profits together with a common goal.

The Manifesto

Due to the urgency and alarming deterioration of our ecosystems, our three organizations are joining forces. A coordinated effort will yield results with greater efficiency and dynamism.

Indeed, many non-profits typically operate within distinct spheres. However, we firmly believe in the power of a cooperative model. Instead of seeing our differences as obstacles, we embrace them as sources of diverse perspectives. We aim to implement innovative solutions. This being said, with this conviction, we have initiated a collaboration to redefine our approach to preserving specific areas. as a consequence and for all these reasons, we are signing a manifesto that will bind our three organizations. Therefore, we are boarding on a shared mission, aligned values, goals, and mutual responsibilities.

The deal:

  1. Together, we have decided to launch a reforestation initiative in the areas of: Playa Negra Guanacaste / Avellanas Guanacaste / Junquilal Guanacaste. (Read more here)
  2. Through this dedicated program, we aim to provide professional services to the community at highly accessible rates.
  3. As a result, we will organize three events per year to engage a broader audience and highlight our collective efforts.
  4. A shared web page will be featured on each of our respective websites, serving as a centralized platform for our collaborative efforts.
  5. We will coordinate our efforts by leveraging our unique strengths:
    • Costas Verdes will provide expertise and trees from its nursery.
    • The Clean Wave will offer event management skills and potential volunteers.
    • Savage Lands will focus on outreach in the Playa Negra area, recruit new landowners, and implement communication tools.
  6. Each organization will provide all necessary assistance to the others. All quotes and invoices will be supervised and approved by the three entities.”
