Following the historic wildfires that devastated southwestern France, Savage Lands and Arthur Alternatif brought together several members of the Metal community to provide direct financial support to Gironde firefighters. The collective effort resulted in a €13,910 donation.
Turning mobilization into action
The historic wildfires that struck southwestern France destroyed thousands of hectares of forest, severely impacted ecosystems and required an extraordinary response from firefighters on the ground.
Faced with the scale of the disaster, Savage Lands and Arthur Alternatif decided to coordinate a mobilization within the Metal and alternative music community to provide direct financial support to Gironde firefighters.
Savage Lands committed €10,000 directly to the initiative.
At the same time, a crowdfunding campaign was launched through HelloAsso and supported by several artists and organizations from the Metal community, raising nearly €4,000 in additional donations.
Together, these efforts resulted in a total donation of €13,910 to Gironde firefighters.
The Metal community in action
This initiative gained momentum thanks to the collective involvement of the scene.
Alongside Savage Lands and Arthur Alternatif, several bands, festivals and members of the Metal community helped support and amplify the campaign:
Festival 666, Revnoir, Mirabelle and Ice Sealed Eyes.
We also want to thank everyone who contributed directly through the HelloAsso crowdfunding campaign.
Behind the artists, festivals and organizations are individuals who chose to turn their support into concrete action.

€13,910 donated to Gironde firefighters
The presentation of the €13,910 check marked the completion of this collective fundraising operation.
For Savage Lands, supporting firefighters is directly connected to our broader vision of biodiversity protection.
Protecting ecosystems means restoring forests, protecting land and creating long-term conservation areas. But when forests, wildlife and local communities are directly threatened by fire, it also means supporting those working on the front line to defend them.
Wildfires of this magnitude are also a reminder that prevention and emergency response require resources that match the scale of the challenges our territories are increasingly facing.
We hope decision-makers will provide firefighters and other frontline organizations with the human, technical and financial resources they need to face this new reality.
When Metal becomes a force for biodiversity
This initiative goes beyond the amount written on a check.
It demonstrates what can happen when a cultural community coordinates around an environmental cause and transforms awareness into measurable action.
This is one of the founding principles behind Savage Lands: using the power of music and its community to directly fund biodiversity protection.
Artists, festivals, music professionals and fans can become part of the same movement.
Music creates the audience.
Community creates mobilization.
Mobilization creates action.
The €13,910 raised for Gironde firefighters is another concrete example of what this model can achieve.
Thank you to Arthur Alternatif, Festival 666, Revnoir, Mirabelle, Ice Sealed Eyes and everyone who contributed to this initiative.
The fight continues. The Metal community is in motion.
